Strafferammen er inntil tre års fengsel, eller en uspesifisert bot. Straffen kan økes dersom det foreligger også andre lovbrudd. Dette betyr at opptrinn som vi har sett i Oslo med vaiende IS-flagg ut bilvindu nå er forbudt ved lov i alpelandet.
The regulation bans all activities in support of the al-Qaeda splinter group, in Switzerland but also outside of the country for Swiss citizens. “It not only forbids the activities of the organization here at home and abroad, but also all actions designed to support them personally or materially, for example through propaganda, fundraising or the recruitment of new members,” a government statement said.
The Federal Council said the offense of supporting the Islamic State group will be punishable by imprisonment of up to three years or an unspecified fine, but noted that longer sentences could be imposed if the support is in combination with other offenses. Assets deemed to be used for Islamic State activities can also be seized under the regulation.
The regulation will be in force for an initial period of six months, but the Federal Council said it seeks to implement additional legislation by the end of the year.
